Kentucky EEQ Certification Initiative

Kentucky_ƒƒƒHeaderProject Overview

The Kentucky EEQ Certification Initiative is a statewide collaboration between the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, six postsecondary and higher education institutions, and The Quality Assurance Commons designed to:

  • Advance the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education’s 2016-2021 Strategic Agenda
  • Support Kentucky’s workforce development initiatives, with a particular emphasis on the state’s five priority industries: construction, manufacturing, health care, logistics, and business services/technology (IT)
  • Enhance strategic connections between postsecondary and higher education institutions, academic programs, and employers
  • Communicate the quality, value, and relevance of educational programs to a variety of constituents, including employers, students, and the general public.

During this 18-month initiative, faculty, staff, and administrators from participating institutions–with the support of a statewide learning community and resources from The Quality Assurance Commons–will engage in program self-assessment against the Certification Criteria; develop an action plan; and submit an EEQ CERT Portfolio for third-party evaluation by The QA Commons. Programs that meet the Certification Criteria will receive EEQ Certification. In-person and virtual learning community meetings will provide opportunities for resource sharing and collaboration across programs, disciplines, and institutions.

A Stakeholder Council comprised of employers, academic leadership, government, and students will provide strategic leadership on project goals and outcomes.
